Clients have space to reflect, reset, and rebuild their lives in a peaceful environment that fosters emotional and mental well-being. Away from the triggers of daily life, individuals can fully engage in therapy, self-discovery, and personal growth while surrounded by nature.
Safety and support are at the core of our residential program. Our clients receive round-the-clock care from medical professionals, licensed therapists, and addiction specialists, ensuring that they navigate detox and treatment safely. Successful recovery requires a multifaceted approach that addresses both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction. Our residential program integrates evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) alongside life skills training, emotional regulation techniques, and relapse prevention strategies. By combining structured therapy with real-world skill-building, clients leave treatment equipped with the tools they need to maintain long-term sobriety.
Our ranch setting in Wildwood Canyon provides clients unique opportunities for therapeutic engagement in nature. Clients can experience the grounding benefits of gardening, mindfulness walks, and outdoor reflection spaces, all of which encourage emotional healing and self-awareness. While we do not offer formal equine therapy, our on-site horses and animals create a calming and supportive presence, allowing clients to experience the therapeutic benefits of connecting with animals in a natural environment.

More about usOur residential program at Benchmark Transitions is designed to provide clients with the tools, therapies, and support they need for a lasting recovery. Individuals can fully engage in healing by stepping away from daily stressors and focusing on rebuilding their lives.
Here’s what you can expect:
Detox is often the first big step toward breaking free from prescription drug addiction, but it can also feel like the most intimidating. Withdrawal symptoms can be challenging—physically and emotionally—which is why having medical support makes all the difference. At Benchmark Transitions, we provide 24/7 care to help ease discomfort, monitor health, and ensure a safe, stable transition into treatment. Our team is here not just to manage symptoms but to offer reassurance and encouragement when it’s needed most.
Recovery isn’t just about quitting a substance—it’s about understanding why it became a part of your life in the first place. Individual therapy gives clients a space to open up about their struggles, uncover patterns, and work through the emotions that fuel addiction. Group therapy, on the other hand, is a chance to connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through. It’s powerful to sit in a room and realize you’re not alone—hearing someone else’s story might just help you make sense of your own.
For many people, addiction doesn’t exist on its own. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other mental health challenges often play a role, making recovery more complex. That’s why we take a dual diagnosis approach, treating both addiction and underlying mental health conditions together. Imagine trying to build a house on a shaky foundation—if the root causes of substance use aren’t addressed, staying sober becomes much more complex. By working through both issues at the same time, clients gain the tools to manage their mental health while also learning how to maintain lasting recovery.
Recovery isn’t just about getting clean—it’s about learning how to live well. That’s why we incorporate activities and various experiential therapies that help clients positively reconnect with themselves. Whether it’s art therapy, meditation, or simply spending time outdoors, these experiences create healthy outlets for stress and emotions. We also have animals on-site, including horses, which can provide a calming and grounding presence. Taking care of an animal, or even just being around them, has been shown to help with emotional regulation and mindfulness—incredibly valuable in the recovery journey.
Getting sober is one thing, but staying sober in the real world is another challenge altogether. We focus on practical life skills, helping clients prepare for what comes next. From job readiness and financial literacy to healthy communication and boundary-setting, we provide tools that support long-term success. Recovery isn’t just about staying clean from drugs and alcohol—it’s about building a life that makes sobriety feel worthwhile. At Benchmark Transitions, we help our clients take those first steps toward a future they can genuinely be excited about.
Leaving residential treatment can feel overwhelming, which is why ongoing support is a key part of our program. Clients don’t just leave with a treatment plan—they leave with a support system. Our team works closely with each individual to develop a personalized aftercare plan that may include outpatient therapy, sober living options, or continued psychiatric care. We also encourage family involvement and peer support groups to help clients maintain accountability and connection. Long-term success in recovery isn’t about doing it alone—it’s about having the right people and resources to keep moving forward.
Not all prescription drugs are the same, and neither are the challenges associated with addiction. At Benchmark Transitions, we specialize in treating dependency on a wide range of prescription medications, including:
Opioid painkillers, such as oxycodone (OxyContin, Percocet), hydrocodone (Vicodin), morphine, and fentanyl, are highly addictive and often lead to dependency even when prescribed by a doctor. Long-term use can result in physical dependence, cravings, and dangerous withdrawal symptoms.
Benzodiazepines like Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, and Ativan are often prescribed for anxiety, panic attacks, or insomnia. However, they can quickly lead to dependence, making it difficult for individuals to function without them.
Prescription stimulants, such as Adderall, Ritalin, and Vyvanse, are commonly used to treat ADHD but can become addictive when misused. Many individuals become dependent on stimulants for energy, focus, or weight loss.
These are just a few of the areas of substance use disorders we specialize in at our Yucaipa addiction treatment center. Regardless of the type of prescription drug addiction you or your loved one is facing, our treatment programs are tailored to meet your specific needs and guide you toward a successful recovery.

At Benchmark Transitions, we utilize a range of evidence-based and holistic therapies to support individuals in overcoming prescription drug addiction. Each client’s journey is unique, which is why we tailor treatment plans to meet individual needs, helping them develop lifelong strategies for maintaining sobriety.
CBT plays a key role in our program, helping clients recognize and reframe the negative thought patterns that often fuel addiction. Many people turn to prescription drugs to cope with stress, anxiety, or trauma, and CBT provides practical techniques for managing these challenges in healthier ways. Whether it’s learning how to navigate triggers, handle cravings, or develop healthier coping mechanisms, this therapy equips clients with skills they can carry into everyday life.
For those recovering from opioid or benzodiazepine dependence, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can provide an added layer of support. Cravings and withdrawal symptoms can feel overwhelming in the early stages of recovery, making it difficult to focus on the more profound work of healing. MAT helps ease this transition, allowing clients to fully engage in therapy and build the emotional resilience needed for long-term success.
Because addiction and trauma often go hand in hand, we take a trauma-informed approach to treatment. Many individuals battling addiction have experienced significant emotional pain in their past, whether it’s from childhood experiences, loss, or other life challenges. Our therapists create a safe and supportive environment where clients can process these experiences without feeling overwhelmed. We incorporate approaches like EMDR, also known as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, a modality that helps reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer hold the same emotional weight.
Recovery doesn’t end when treatment does, which is why relapse prevention and aftercare planning are built into our program. We work with each client to develop a personalized plan that includes ongoing therapy, support groups, and practical strategies for navigating life post-treatment. Whether creating a structured routine, identifying potential triggers, or strengthening their support system, we ensure our clients leave with a roadmap for maintaining sobriety in the real world.
